West Coast Jazz

This Tuesday, The West Coast Jazztet brings the relaxed sound of classic West Coast Jazz to Cornwall. The programme takes its inspiration from the cool jazz of the 1950s and ’60s, with its easy swing, memorable melodies and beautifully crafted arrangements. There is plenty of room for improvisation and interaction. Some tunes are laid back, others swing hard, but the music always leaves space for the individual voices of the musicians to come through. Drawing on the great West Coast tradition without simply looking backwards, the Jazztet keeps the music fresh, lively and open. West Coast Jazz — this time on the right side of the Atlantic.
