American folk legend to visit The Tolmen Centre

The Tolmen Centre at Constantine is delighted to be hosting a visit from the great American folk singer Peggy Seeger on 13th May.

Still actively touring in her seventies Peggy Seeger’s musical career spans half a century. Sister of 60s folk hero Pete Seeger, she is now the ‘grande dame’ of the American folk scene. She has written countless songs, many with a distinct feminist theme. Her then partner Ewan Macoll wrote his famous and beautiful love song The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face both for and about her.

Peggy is a multi-instrumentalist as well as a singer, and is a mesmeric performer. Her memorable 70th birthday concert a few years ago was at the Festival Hall in London – the Tolmen Centre hopes for an equally momentous evening on Friday 13th May.
